The causes of this disorder are for the most part biological. Some causes could be season of birth, viral epidemics, population density, prenatal malnutrition, maternal stress, and substance abuse (Carlson, 2013). It can be passed down from the parents to the children. There are three types of symptoms that show in Schizophrenic people and they are positive, negative, and cognitive. The positive symptoms are delusions, hallucinations, thought disorders, grandeur persecution and control. Negative symptoms are social withdrawal, anhedonia, poverty of speech, flattened emotional response, and lack of initiative and persistence. Cognitive symptoms are as follows; difficulty in sustaining attention, Low psychomotor speed, and deficits in learning and memory. It takes this disease . The area of the brain that is affected most by this disease is the prefrontal cortex. Treatment for schizophrenia is PCP, Ketomine, Clozapine, and aripiprazole (Carlson, 2013).
