Reply Quote RE: Week 8 Discussion Three ways that a mentor can help new employees with their career development are: (1) source of advice and encouragement, (2) builds diversity, and (3) improve onboarding and productivity. * The one that I value most as a mentor would be to be a siuece of advice and encouragement because when an employee starts a new job it’s great to have someone to make you feel comfortable and give encouragement to you so you will know that you have someone to talk to about any concerns that you may encounter on your journey to be successful. * My personal experience mentorship with my present employment is I had a mentor that showed me how much that she cared that I learned the new job and showed me short cuts as learned how to manuver the systems that we were going to be using in that particular job. My mentor made me feel comfortable and assured me that she knew I could do the job and I will do fine. I am still here and I am performing at an exceptional level and just received a great pay increase. A mentor that show you that she have confidence in you will help you to succeed because you work harder to make sure that you don not fail. As the sayin goes: “it is better to try and fail, than to fail to try.” My motto is ” A winner never quits and a quitter never wins.”
