Please respond to Kenneth with 200 words Good morning professor and classmates. I am currently a sophomore in the B.S. The Occupational Safety and Health/Construction Safety degree program mainly seeks to obtain ASP and CSP certificates. I have been in construction since 94, and safety and health for going on 23 of those years. I work primarily on DOD federal projects that fall under USACE. Much of our day-to-day safety requirements go above OSHA; areas such as recordkeeping, however, could become increasingly critical to understand, especially with OSHA transitioning with COVID falling under the General Duty Clause. South Carolina falls under Region IV LEP but only covers federal-owned lands and installations. FY 18 state plan offices conducted 49 inspections, of which 40% resulted in violations. Shaw AFB, my current location, is listed under the Columbia Construction Master Inspection List, which could inspect my project. With a 40% risk of citation, it will be a good idea to reevaluate our safety program and recordkeeping procedures and ensure there are no holes in our safety practices. This class has already led me to some documents I was unaware of until this morning.
