You are a manager at medium sized company, which has offices in several states across the country.  Numerous employee surveys and workplace studies have identified a lack of collaboration as a problem, and cited lack of collaboration or ineffective communication for workplace failures. Although both internal and external collaboration is an issue, you have been tasked to foster better internal collaboration across the enterprise.  In a 5-8 page paper (not counting cover page and reference pages), identify a collaborative leadership model you will use and then address the following:

  1. Changes in the culture of the organization that you would make to improve collaboration across the enterprise.
  2. Technology to improve collaboration across the enterprise.Workspace changes that you would make to improve collaboration and communication.

You have been hired by an organization based upon your knowledge in Human Resources Management. The organization has a Human Resources Manager (HRM), but there are no formal process in place to manage the department.  The organization has been in business for about 2 years and is still considered a start-up.  Besides the HRM, there is a 2-member Information Technology (IT), e.g., Director and member, executive administrator for the CEO, a CFO, and an administrative section (includes a supervisor and three personnel all hired within the last 2 months).  The CEO also wants to hire a Chief Operations Officer (COO), but waited until you were hired to do so. In other words, the CEO needs your knowledge and expertise.

For this assignment, you select a type of business of interest, e.g., non-profit, for profit, healthcare, etc., and apply the personnel specifics mentioned above.  (Hint: focus on an area that interests you either positive or negative, because it may be useful in your dissertation in the future).  Please address the following in your 5-8 page paper:
